The IES SDP Maritime Taskforce is strengthening the maritime sector with a focus on hovercraft maintenance and operations, supporting a regional fleet of over 1,000 hovercraft deployed across logistics, security, tourism, and coastal support roles. The taskforce advances sector professionalisation through competency frameworks, targeted training pathways, and the development of best practices in reliability, safety, and lifecycle management. By integrating mechanical, electrical, and operational expertise, the initiative aims to enhance workforce capability, improve asset readiness, and position Singapore as a regional hub for specialised hovercraft maintenance and operational excellence.
