IES SDP Data Centre Taskforce

The IES Skills Development Partner (SDP) Data Centre Taskforce supports the development of engineering capabilities in Singapore’s fast-growing data centre sector. As digital infrastructure continues to expand, there is an increasing need for skilled professionals with specialised knowledge in design, construction, operations, and energy efficiency of mission-critical facilities.

The taskforce brings together industry practitioners, training partners, and subject-matter experts to identify skills gaps and develop relevant training initiatives under the IES SDP framework.

Objectives

1. Identify Industry Skills Needs
The taskforce works with stakeholders across the data centre value chain to map emerging competencies and workforce requirements, ensuring that training programmes remain aligned with industry demand.

2. Develop Relevant Training Programmes
In collaboration with approved training providers, the taskforce supports the development of courses, workshops, and professional development programmes tailored to the data centre sector.

3. Promote Knowledge Sharing and Professional Development
The taskforce facilitates engagement between engineers, operators, consultants, and technology providers, encouraging the exchange of best practices and continuous learning.

Supporting Singapore’s Digital Infrastructure

By strengthening skills and professional capabilities, the IES SDP Data Centre Taskforce contributes to building a resilient and future-ready engineering workforce to support Singapore’s position as a regional hub for digital infrastructure.
